Classical actor and director Dathan B. Williams leads the TWAS Classical Actors of Color as they play Shakespeare’s moral tale - in the tradition of British Pantomime - where the male roles can be played by females and the female roles can be played by males!
With moral and social corruption rife, the Duke has lost credibility needed to enforce laws. Lord Angelo is deputized to govern while the Duke pulls a “friar trick”, not only to observe the extent of corruption and depravity, but also to intervene in the troubled lives of his kingdom. The Duke arranges the “bed- trick” and then the “head- trick” to correct moral and judicial imbalances set in motion by Angelo. Sex and death dilemmas cause the morality of all to be called into question. Can “measure answer measure” to solve the day?
Join us as we open in our new space and take you on
